About Queens Community House (QCH):
Queens Community House is a multi-service nonprofit organization serving the diverse neighborhoods of Queens. Our mission is to empower individuals and families by providing the tools they need to enrich their lives and build healthy, inclusive communities.

We are seeking a Workforce Instructor to join our College and Career Services team. This role is ideal for a motivated, mission-driven individual who is passionate about helping young adults develop the skills they need to succeed in today’s workforce.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver engaging in-person and virtual trainings in:

Food Protection

Retail Fundamentals

Basic Computer Literacy

First Aid/CPR

Driver’s Education

OSHA and other relevant certifications

Provide workforce readiness training, including resume writing, cover letters, financial literacy, and mock interviews

Facilitate orientation sessions and lead program Open Houses

Design and distribute instructional materials and classroom aids

Support participants in setting and achieving career goals

Recruit guest speakers for Job Club sessions and special events

Complete documentation, including case notes, attendance, and data entry

Offer case management support and ensure smooth transitions to next-step services

Evaluate training outcomes and adjust the curriculum as needed

Collaborate with local employers to build internship and job placement opportunities

Assist with curriculum development and provide support across youth workforce programs

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience

Minimum 2 years of experience facilitating workforce or skills-based training

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

Comfortable working with diverse populations

Proficient in Microsoft Office and open to learning new software platforms

Highly organized and detail-oriented with a strong follow-through
