About Us

Global Youth Support Center (GYSC) is a nonprofit organization committed to empowering immigrant, refugee, and international youth through education and sport. We are currently launching Global Youth Academy, an international college-preparatory high school opening in Fall 2026 in Milwaukee, WI. The school will serve underrepresented students from immigrant backgrounds and aims to become a leader in both academics and athletics.

Position Summary

We are seeking passionate, entrepreneurial-minded interns to join our School Launch & Development Team. Interns will gain hands-on experience building a school from the ground up—engaging in strategy, operations, communications, curriculum planning, and more. This is an ideal opportunity for students who want to make a tangible impact in education, global engagement, and community development.

Available Focus Areas & Duties

1. International Affairs (Strategic Planning & Outreach)

Assist in developing international student recruitment strategies

Conduct country-specific research and build partnerships with global recruitment agencies

Support outreach and virtual info sessions for prospective families abroad

2. Computer Science / IT

Collaborate on website development and user experience

Contribute to building backend systems for enrollment, communication, and tech infrastructure

Propose tech innovations to improve student experience

3. Business Administration / HR

Help draft organizational structure, staffing models, and HR policies

Support budgeting, planning, and operations documentation

Participate in strategic sessions related to sustainability and growth

4. Communication / Marketing / PR

Design content for social media, newsletters, and internal branding

Support media outreach and press release writing

Track and analyze engagement metrics across platforms

5. Education

Assist in curriculum planning and multicultural education frameworks

Support professional development planning and student teaching tracks

Research culturally responsive instructional models

6. Civil / Construction Engineering

Collaborate with Moore Construction on facility planning and renovation projects

Review site designs and provide logistical support for project planning

Contribute to sustainability and accessibility assessments

Requirements

Current undergraduate or graduate student in a relevant major

Strong interest in education, youth development, or global affairs

Self-starter with good organizational and communication skills

Comfortable working independently and in a team setting

Commitment of at least 5–8 hours per week (flexible scheduling)
