High School Algebra I and Geometry

Grapeland High School is seeking a dedicated and passionate educator to join our team as a full-time teacher for Algebra I and Geometry. The ideal candidate will foster a positive learning environment that encourages student engagement and critical thinking. This role requires a commitment to academic excellence and the ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students.

Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with state standards for Algebra I and Geometry.
- Assess and evaluate student progress through various methods, including tests, quizzes, and projects.
- Provide individualized support and tutoring to students who require additional assistance.
- Create a classroom environment that promotes respect, collaboration, and a love for mathematics.
- Collaborate with other faculty members to integrate cross-curricular learning opportunities.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and classroom activities.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay current with educational trends.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and performance data.
- Contribute to school-wide initiatives and activities, including meetings, committees, and events.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics Education or a related field.
- Valid teaching certification in Mathematics for grades 9-12.
- Proven experience teaching Algebra I and Geometry at the high school level is preferred.
- Strong understanding of mathematical concepts and the ability to convey them effectively to students.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Ability to use technology and educational software to enhance teaching and learning experiences.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive classroom environment for all students.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
