Events & Philly Festival Tour Intern

Position Overview

We are seeking an energetic and organized Events & Philly Festival Tour Intern to assist in coordinating and executing our nonprofit’s community engagement events and festival presence throughout Philadelphia. This role provides a hands-on opportunity to support event planning, audience engagement, tour creation, logistics, and on-site activation, while contributing to meaningful cultural and community-driven programming.

This is a hybrid position, with a mix of in-office work, remote tasks, and on-site event support. The intern will be expected to work weekend events and festivals as needed, with advance notice provided for all scheduled weekends.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the planning and coordination of community events, pop-ups, and festival appearances
  • Support event logistics, including vendor communication, material prep, and setup/breakdown
  • Represent the organization at public events, engaging with attendees and distributing materials
  • Help track event participation, manage sign-in sheets, and gather attendee feedback
  • Create and update a tour route and research content for storytelling outreach and Promotions 
  • Coordinate volunteers and support team communications during events
  • Contribute to post-event reports and evaluations

 

Qualifications

  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Interest in community engagement, event planning, or cultural tourism
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends (with advance notice)
  • Comfortable engaging with the public and working in dynamic, fast-paced settings
  • Detail-oriented, reliable, and able to take initiative
  • Familiarity with Philadelphia neighborhoods and community spaces is a plus
  • Experience with Google Workspace, Canva, or event platforms (like Eventbrite) is helpful but not required

 

Compensation

A stipend of $250 per month will be provided upon successful completion of assigned tasks and responsibilities each month.
