Boise State University's ECLIPSE Project is seeking a Competitive Integrated Employment (CIE) Specialist to support students with intellectual or developmental disabilities in the PEERS Program. Job Summary/Basic Function:
The Competitive Integrated Employment (CIE) Specialist for the ECLIPSE Project at Boise State University will deliver services to support the Providing Postsecondary Education and Raising Standards (PEERS) Program. The PEERS Program provides access to college for students with intellectual or developmental disabilities at Boise State University. Job training and career development activities to improve CIE outcomes are at the forefront. The CIE Specialist will work with PEERS Program and ECLIPSE personnel to develop and implement job training activities.
This is a Full-Time, Temporary, Prorated 10-month appointment.
Level Scope:
Entry-level professional with limited or no prior experience to contribute on a project or work team. Incumbent learns to use professional concepts to resolve problems of limited scope and complexity under close supervision while achieving day-to-day objectives. Works on developmental assignments that are initially routine in nature, requiring limited judgment and decision making. This level is typically focused on self development. Requires theoretical knowledge through specific education and training.
Essential Functions:
• Arrange and facilitate work internship placements.
• Develop and adapt programmatic materials.
• Support and deliver training to employment internship partners.
• Work with ECLIPSE Associate Director to improve services.
• Deliver direct instruction to PEERS students.
• Participate in professional development activities both individually and as a team.
• Lead efforts to deliver an annual Reverse Career Fair.
• Facilitate PEERS Student Mentorship opportunities.
• Support PEERS student success in university courses.
• Additionally, the CIE Specialist must supervise Peer Mentor job coaches and support interagency collaboration:
• Train, support, evaluate, and supervise Peer Job Coaches (traditionally enrolled students).
• Support interagency collaboration efforts (e.g., Idaho Division of Vocational Rehabilitation).
• As requested, represent PEERS/ECLIPSE professionally on various councils, task forces, workgroups, and committees.
• Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
• Experience delivering training and/or instruction to individuals with disabilities.
• Strong communication and networking skills.
• Using computer software and applications for online communication and research, Word processing, developing spreadsheets, producing presentations, and generating reports.
• Ability to work independently and in a self-directed manner.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with programs that provide access to college for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
• Experience facilitating job training activities.
• Experience delivering training and/or coaching to support learners.
• Experience in planning and delivering events.
• Ability to produce electronic promotional materials.
