About the Job
The Metallurgy Intern will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and work alongside industry experts, contributing to the development of cutting-edge mining projects. As a Metallurgy Intern at our mine site, you will collaborate with skilled metallurgists and contribute to our mineral processing and extraction efforts, playing an integral role in exciting projects that enhance our mining operations.
Responsibilities
- Fieldwork: Assist in metallurgical fieldwork activities as well as Assay Lab.
- Data Management: Conduct metallurgical studies as directed by senior Met Staff.
- Collaboration: Work closely with senior metallurgists and cross-functional teams, including mining engineers and environmental specialists, to support mine planning and development.
- Safety: Promote and adhere to safety protocols and procedures, ensuring a safe working environment.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in metallurgical engineering or a related field.
- Work in all conditions and environments; varying amount of time on the job is outdoors.
- Able to lift 25 lbs. on an occasional basis.
- Able to walk up and down slopes and uneven ground daily.
- Strong academic performance in relevant coursework.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Safety-conscious mindset and commitment to following safety protocols.
