Job Description and Duties

The CDFW Sierra Fisheries team is seeking a motivated individual to work as a Limited Term Environmental Scientist located in the North Central Region's Headquarters office in Rancho Cordova.
Under close supervision of the Senior Environmental Scientist, Supervisor, incumbent supports a variety of ongoing efforts to recover Clear Lake Hitch (CLH). The incumbent will participate in technical committees, to provide subject matter expertise and facilitate multi-agency coordination on species management, project implementation, and data needs, collect and analyze flow and barrier data crucial to CLH tributary passage and identify minimum flows. Develop and update a living document to guide barrier removal and/or improvement projects, evaluate barrier metrics and fish passage ability and success, support multi-agency research, monitoring, and rescue efforts related to CLH conservation, lead teams in physical removal of vegetation, woody debris, and refuse from Clear Lake Tributaries including erosion stabilization and riparian vegetation restoration.
This is a 12-month limited-term position which may be extended to 24 months and/or become permanent.
