Executive Director Intern
Position Summary:
The Executive Director Intern will support the leadership team in the overall management and daily operations of our assisted living community. This internship offers hands-on experience in senior living administration, regulatory compliance, resident care coordination, team leadership, and community engagement. The ideal candidate is a proactive and compassionate individual aspiring to build a career in healthcare or senior living management.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the Executive Director in the day-to-day management of community operations.
Participate in meetings related to staffing, budgeting, compliance, and resident services.
Learn and help ensure adherence to state licensing requirements and safety regulations.
Support initiatives that enhance resident satisfaction and quality of life.
Work with department heads (nursing, culinary, housekeeping, activities, etc.) to understand interdisciplinary coordination.
Assist with marketing, tours, and family communications as needed.
Help monitor and improve operational processes and resident care standards.
Prepare reports, presentations, or audits as assigned.
Shadow and assist in staff management, scheduling, and conflict resolution.
Learning Objectives:
Gain a comprehensive understanding of leadership roles in a senior living community.
Develop skills in team supervision, regulatory compliance, and resident-centered care.
Learn operational functions including budgeting, HR, marketing, and quality assurance.
Qualifications:
Currently pursuing a degree in Healthcare Administration, Gerontology, Business, Nursing, or a related field.
Strong interest in senior living, long-term care, or healthcare leadership.
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
Compassionate, respectful, and sensitive to the needs of the elderly population.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Preferred:
Previous experience in a healthcare, customer service, or administrative setting.
Knowledge of assisted living or long-term care industry practices and regulations.
Working Conditions:
On-site role in a residential care environment.
May require flexible scheduling, including occasional evenings or weekends.
Physical ability to navigate the community and interact with residents.
