Job Title: Software Developer Advocate Intern
Reporting to: IT
Location: Sandy Hook, CT
Working Hours: 8am-4:30pm Monday – Friday
Position Summary:
The Developer Advocate Intern is responsible for bridging the IT team (who develops software) with the Operation’s technical staff (who use the software) by teaching, collaborating, communicating, and providing support. As a liaison between departments, the Developer Advocate Intern facilitates the adoption of software by understanding the needs of both developers and users, translating technical requirements and feedback into software changes and implementation. Responsibilities will include assisting Operations staff with the use of new software tools, identifying new feature opportunities, and reporting issues to ensure that software meets company and customer needs.
Areas of Responsibilities:
- Communication between Operations technical staff and IT software development.
- Translation of operational and process requirements into software execution.
- Training employees on new or updated software.
- Implentation of software fixes and updates based on feedback from users and developers
Key Tasks:
- Gain an understanding of software projects and platforms
- Interface with Production Team and End Users, documenting feedback.
- Create training material focused on software platforms and projects
- Trains/Create Training plans for Production Team and End Users to follow.
- Triages bugs and feature requests, interfaces with dev team to plan development sprints.
- Provide updates to weekly IT meeting.
Education Requirements:
- Completed or working towards Associates or Bachelor’s Degree focused on Information Technology, MIS, or UI/UX Design.
