WSE is a Building Envelope Engineering and Consulting company, headquartered in Stow, OH and our focus is to Enable Facades That Inspire. We do this through our structural engineering and building envelope consulting services and have been providing these services for over 25 years.

 

WSE is looking for a Project Engineer to join our company, reporting to the Director of Building Envelope Engineering. This Project Engineer is in alignment with our core values, Capable, Integrity, Collaborative, Communication, and Client Conscious.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide structural analysis of curtain wall and building envelope systems:
  • Establish design criteria based on applicable building codes and project requirements.
  • Develop section properties and allowable stresses for required structural shapes.
  • Perform analysis for members to determine stresses and deflection.
  • Analyze / design internal connections and anchorage to building structure.
  • Provide structural analysis of miscellaneous exterior elements, such as Sunshades, Guardrails, Wind Screens, Wall Panels, and Signs.
  • Collaborate in the development of new internal practices, tools, templates, etc.
  • Participate in field assignments, gathering data and field conditions to develop solutions for clients.
  • Actively participate in a teamwork environment.
  • Effectively manage time to perform work duties in a fast-paced environment.
  • Participate in client facing meetings as support for senior level staff.

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • BS in Civil Engineering, focused on Structural Engineering
  • 0 to five years of structural engineering experience
  • Skilled in technical engineering areas (statics, mechanics of materials, steel and concrete design).
  • Experience / knowledge of AutoCAD, STAAD, and Mathcad is a plus, but not a required.
  • Experienced with building envelope materials and their design preferred but not required.

 

Essential Skills:

  • Knowledge of Statics and Mechanics of Materials.
  • Solid Math skills
  • Organization skills.
