
Howell County Soil and Water Conservation District Internship
The Howell County Soil and Water Conservation District is seeking an intern for the summer of 2025 or fall 2025 semester. Applicants must be a higher education student within any degree major. The intern cannot be a student that has completed their college degree. An intern may work up to 500 hours annually.
Job duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: field survey, project design, mapping, and implementation of state cost-share programs; communicating with landowners, operators, and contractors; assisting with rental equipment; working with and following policies implemented by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources and the Natural Resources Conservation Service. This individual will work with parks, soils and water sales tax funds distributed to the District for the cost-share and District grants. Work is performed under supervision of the Howell County Soil & Water Conservation District Board of Supervisors.
The applicant must have good communication skills, strong computer skills, the ability to manage multiple projects, and be able to adapt to day to day changes. The applicant must be willing to work both indoors and outdoors. Basic farm knowledge/experience is helpful but not required. Proper training will be provided.
