Accounting Assistant (Bilingual Mandarin English)

Location: Young Scholars (San Marino)
Job Types: Part-Time, Contract

Job Summary:

Young Scholars is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to join our growing team in San Marino. The Accounting Assistant will support the financial operations of the company by performing a variety of accounting tasks, including maintaining financial records, processing transactions, and assisting with payroll. This position requires accuracy, strong problem-solving skills, and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in maintaining financial records, including processing and reconciling accounts payable and receivable.
  • Prepare and process invoices, expense reports, purchase orders, and statements.
  • Monitor and manage cash flow by tracking income and expenses.
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting processes.
  • Assist in preparing budgets and forecasts for management review.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Assist with payroll processing and benefits administration.
  • Provide support during audits and assist with compliance documentation.
  • Maintain accurate filing systems for all financial documents.
  • Respond to internal and external inquiries related to accounting and financial information.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure the smooth operation of accounting processes.
  • Perform other administrative tasks as assigned by the accounting manager or team lead.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's degree or certification in accounting or finance is a plus).
  • Bachelor’s degree (preferred).
  • 1-2 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience (preferred).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Experience with accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, or similar) is preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Discretion and ability to handle sensitive financial information confidentially.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
