Lab Technician
Position Overview:
We are seeking a hands-on Lab Technician to join our Research & Development team. In this role, you will collaborate closely with R&D scientists to assist in the development, testing, and evaluation of new formulations in adhesives, coatings, and insulation products. Your contributions will directly support innovation and quality in product performance.
What You’ll Do:
- Prepare materials and assist in formulation activities to support ongoing lab projects.
- Accurately mix small-scale batches of various product formulations by established procedures.
- Perform detailed testing and evaluations, including application trials, to assess product performance.
- Apply coatings and adhesives to test surfaces and evaluate according to defined standards.
- Learn and contribute to color matching processes for products under development.
- Document procedures, test results, and observations in an organized and precise manner.
- Share findings with the development team through verbal and written updates.
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe lab environment in line with safety protocols.
- Occasionally assist with plant-related tasks, including retrieving materials or observing production batches.
Qualifications:
- Completion of college-level science courses (Associate's or Bachelor’s preferred).
- A degree in chemistry, materials science, or a related physical science is a plus.
- Prior laboratory experience in a manufacturing or formulation environment is beneficial, especially with coatings or adhesives.
- Ability to safely handle chemical substances and use appropriate PPE as needed.
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. and standing for extended periods.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Strong attention to detail, good organizational habits, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
