The Board of Trustees of the Youngsville Public Library seeks a highly qualified individual for the position of Library Director to begin as soon as possible. The library serves Youngsville and surrounding areas.

In keeping with the library’s mission, the Director is responsible for developing and supporting all efforts necessary to maintain a public library that is responsive to the community’s needs for information, education, and recreation. The Library Director monitors library services and programs, creates public relations materials, supervises staff and volunteers, oversees the facility, and fosters community partnerships. The Director works closely with the Board of Trustees to develop library policies and budgets, and to stay informed of developments in library management.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership skills and a clear vision for librarianship and community engagement. They will be committed to advancing the library’s strategic direction, effectively manage finances, and lead the integration of new technologies. Additionally, they will foster collaborative relationships both within the library and throughout the community.

Qualifications include: Library Assistant Certification: Requires a minimum of 2 years of college and 9 credits in library science, or a willingness to complete the 9 library science credits to obtain certification.. Criminal background check and child abuse clearances required. Experience in libraries, human service, or nonprofit organizations, as well as supervisory experience, is a plus.
