Accounting Specialist

Position:  Accounting Specialist

Location:  Seattle, WA


Company Overview:  A well-established, privately owned company engaged in manufacturing and retail operations, headquartered in the Seattle area.

Reports to:  Controller

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute daily, monthly, and annual accounting functions, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting. Prepare and present financial statements.
  • Prepare journal entries and perform account reconciliations.
  • Handle work-in-progress and finished goods accounting, including annual inventory reconciliation.
  • Oversee all accounts payable processes.
  • Manage cash receipts and monitor cash balances.
  • Administer payroll and support other HR-related accounting tasks as necessary.
  • Communicate directly with internal teams and external contacts, providing professional and responsive service.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience, including accounts payable, payroll, and financial statement preparation.
  • Experience working in a small business environment is required.
  • Completion of accounting coursework required; a bachelor’s degree in accounting is preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and familiar with order processing or ERP systems; able to quickly adapt to new software.
  • Must be available to work onsite in the office full-time, Monday through Friday.
