Terminal X is looking for a Superstar AI Prompt Engineer to join our Product team in New York, NY.

In this execution-first role, you’ll help bridge the gap between cutting-edge AI and the workflows of the world’s top financial institutions. As an AI Prompt Engineer, you’ll apply your finance background and product instincts to shape how Terminal X ingests, interprets, and delivers insights from complex research data. You’ll work across product, post-sales, and client strategy—ensuring our AI is grounded in real user needs and workflows.

About the Role

Terminal X’s AI Prompt Engineers are ex-investors and bankers who now work hands-on to reimagine how financial professionals interact with information. You’ll operate at the intersection of product execution and user insight—writing prompts, fine-tuning document classification, improving workflows, and ensuring that our system reflects how finance actually works.

This role sits at the center of our client and product teams. You’ll help our AI speak the language of institutional investors, ensuring it delivers value in high-stakes, high-complexity use cases—from investment memos to diligence materials and investor communications.

You’ll also be instrumental in driving success for multi-million dollar clients—working closely with end users, improving internal processes, and bringing product ideas to life. This is not a strategy desk role—this is an execution seat with real impact.

 

What You'll Do

• Write, refine, and test prompts that power Terminal X’s LLM-driven research workflows
• Apply deep finance knowledge to classify and tag investment documents (memos, models, agreements, etc.)
• Partner with engineering and product teams to ship AI features that reflect how analysts and PMs work
• Serve as a user proxy—translating feedback into roadmap priorities
• Support client engagements across onboarding, training, and expansion
• Identify and resolve edge cases where LLMs need better grounding in context
• Help scale internal processes, improve workflow efficiency, and elevate team operations
  
   

Who You Are

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field
• 1–4 years of experience in front-office roles at top-tier financial institutions (investment banking, private equity, hedge funds, late-stage venture capital, or corporate development)
• Strong working knowledge of financial research, modeling, and decision-making workflows
• Comfortable working with generative AI tools (e.g., GPT-4.5, Claude, Gemini)
• Curious, execution-oriented, and energized by solving unsolved product problems
• Strong communicator who thrives in fast-paced, ambiguous environments
• Bonus: Experience using LLM tools to accelerate workflows in a prior role

Compensation

$80,000 to $150,000 Base Salary + up to 100% Cash Bonus + Stock Options
