The Illinois Department of Human Services is seeking a dependable and experienced Carpenter to join the team at Elgin Mental Health Center. 💼 What You’ll Do:
• Perform skilled carpentry work including construction, repair, and alterations
• Complete cabinetmaking and woodwork projects in the carpenter shop
• Determine supply needs and manage equipment safely
• Adhere to health and safety standards in residential and treatment areas
• Travel as needed to fulfill duties around the facility

📚 What We’re Looking For:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an approved apprenticeship to qualify as a journeyman carpenter
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and access ladders, roofs, and various facility locations
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel for work
• Strong safety awareness and attention to detail
