Description of Position:

 

Under the general supervision of the Division Dean and in collaboration with the Athletic Director, the Head Coach will direct all aspects of the community college women's basketball program. This includes recruitment of student-athletes, program development, on-field coaching, selection of assistant coaches, scheduling, budgeting, and ensuring compliance with 3C2A and Bay Valley Conference rules and Regulations.

 

1st Round of interviews will be scheduled for June 16, 2025, on Zoom2nd Round of interviews will be scheduled for June 18, 2025, in-person

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Adjunct Faculty duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

1. providing instruction in accordance with established curriculum, course outlines and class schedules;

2. creating and maintaining an environment which emphasizes learning, encourages free discussion of ideas and critical thinking;

3. evaluating progress of students concerning educational matters and grades student work;

4. meeting with students outside of class;

5. maintaining appropriate standards of professional conduct and ethics;

6. maintaining current knowledge in the subject matter areas;

7. fulfilling professional responsibilities of a part-time/temporary faculty member;

8. maintaining accurate academic records;

9. performing other related duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Qualification-Education/Experience:

 

Understanding of and sensitivity to the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, sexual orientation and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, staff and faculty.

 

EDUCATION & WORK EXPERIENCEAny bachelor's degree and two years of professional experience, or any associate degree and six years of professional experience.

 

Desirable Qualifications:

 

Ideal candidates will demonstrate exceptional interpersonal skills, strong leadership qualities, and a deep passion for teaching. They should be able to effectively communicate with students to support their educational and athletic achievements. Additionally, candidates should possess the ability to attract and recruit high-caliber student-athletes to Contra Costa College.
