💰 Salary: $55,032 - $74,736/year + 5% Bilingual Pay

The Illinois Department of Human Services is looking for a compassionate, driven Social Services Career Trainee to join our team in Cook County. This is a fantastic opportunity to receive paid, on-the-job training in public assistance programs that support individuals and families across Illinois.

💼 What You’ll Do:
• Get hands-on training managing public assistance cases (TANF, SNAP, Medical Assistance, etc.)
• Help clients understand welfare programs, child support, and work incentives
• Translate and assist Chinese-speaking individuals in accessing critical services
• Assess client needs and refer them to appropriate support resources
• Gain experience with case updates, eligibility reviews, and records management

📚 What We’re Looking For:
• Four (4) years of college—preferably in social science or a related field
• Ability to speak, read, and write Chinese at a colloquial level
• Strong communication, empathy, and attention to detail
• Desire to work in public service and support vulnerable communities
