Natural Resources Technician - Joint Base San Antoinio, TX

One Natural Resources Technician (Seasonal Worker, Full-time, 40 hours/week) position is available with the Colorado State University (CSU) Center for Environmental Management of Military Lands (CEMML). This position will provide support to the natural resources program at Joint Base San Antonio, TX (JBSA). Participant will be a multidisciplinary position and conduct work with USDA-APHIS, USFWA, and the NRO. Participant will be primarily field based but will include up to 49% office-based tasks. The participant will be expected to work in a rugged and hot field environment. This position is full-time, Monday-Friday.

 

Potential duties include but are not limited to:

  • Feral hog management
  • GCWA nesting surveys and point counts
  • Terrestrial pest management
  • Data collection/management
  • Historical and/or archival research
  • National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA) compliance
  • Site inspections and/or monitoring
  • Data analysis and/or mapping using ArcGIS
  • Preparing compliance renewal applications and/or permit packages
  • Writing and editing technical reports
  • Vegetation surveys or management
  • Habitation restoration and/or management
  • Invasive species monitoring or management
  • Monarch habitat management
  • Tri-colored bat surveys/monitoring
  • Various T&E/sensitive species projects
  • Migratory bird surveys

Must be able to comply with all applicable regulations to obtain a Department of Defense Common Access Card (CAC).
