Behavioral Medicine Research Assistant

Georgetown Lombardi Behavioral Medicine Research Assistant Positions

 

Looking for research experience before applying to graduate school or medical school? We are hiring two positions, starting in late June/July 2025:

Join our team to work on NIH-funded behavioral medicine research concerning genetic counseling and genetic testing for hereditary cancer risk – including studies that incorporate AI approaches to delivering genetic information to cancer patients and survivors. This is a hybrid position (involving both remote and in person work) and is located in Washington, DC.

We are hiring two full-time paid staff positions starting in June or July 2025 with a competitive benefits package. Job Responsibilities Include:

  • Coordinating enrollment and follow-up of participants using REDCap databases
  • Helping to develop new interventions designed to enhance access to cancer genetic services
  • Conducting phone-based participant assessments
  • Conducting data management and data analysis activities
  • Training and supervising undergraduate research assistant and delegating lab responsibilities

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree (completed by start date) in psychology (or other social science), public health, or pre-med is required with interest in and/prior experience with clinical (human subjects) or behavioral science research and coursework and/or a experience in data management/data analysis. A two-year commitment is required.

Additional Recommended Qualifications:

  • Experience using data processing and statistical software (e.g. REDCap, Microsoft Excel, SPSS, SAS, R);
  • Experience working in clinical settings, clinical research labs and advanced coursework in social/behavioral science;
  • Prior CITI Human Subjects training.
  • Experience in working with IRBs.
