What You'll Learn and Contribute:

As our Purchasing and Sourcing Intern, you'll work closely with our purchasing team and gain valuable insights into the driving forces behind our sourcing activities. This internship will provide you with the opportunity to learn about and contribute to:

• Strategic Sourcing Support: Assisting in the development and implementation of purchasing strategies to ensure timely acquisition of quality goods and services at optimal value.
• Vendor Relationship Assistance: Supporting the management of vendor relationships, potentially assisting with contract reviews and communication.
• Supply Chain Optimization Insights: Learning about inventory management, market trend analysis, and how to identify opportunities for supply chain efficiency and cost-effectiveness. You'll collaborate with different departments to understand the flow of goods.
• Data Analysis for Decision Making: Assisting in market research, analysis, and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) to help inform purchasing decisions and identify areas for improvement.
• Process and Compliance Exposure: Gaining an understanding of purchasing processes and ensuring activities align with relevant regulations and quality standards.

You will:

• Actively participate in scheduled team meetings, gaining insights into ongoing projects and financial discussions. 
• Contributing your perspective and ideas during discussions, fostering a collaborative learning environment. 
• Collaborating directly with the executive team on tactical initiatives and their execution, providing valuable support. 
• Assisting in the preparation and delivery of updates, findings, and potential directions to the executive team.

What We're Looking For (Qualifications):

We're seeking enthusiastic and detail-oriented students who are eager to learn and contribute:

• 3rd or 4th-year undergraduate student with a declared major or strong focus in Mathematics, Finance, or Analysis.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an aptitude for working with data.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A foundational understanding of supply chain concepts is a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, is highly desirable.
• A proactive and eager attitude with a strong willingness to learn and contribute to a team environment.

• Reporting: You will report to a member of our Executive team.
• Compensation: This is a paid internship.
• Job Type: Part-time internship with flexible hours (to be discussed based on your academic schedule).
• Location: Pittsburgh, PA
