Bookkeeper
Schedule: This job is 4 hours per day, 11 AM - 3 PM. The new hire can pick between Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Extra hours can be given to cover weekend events.
Management:
The Bookkeeper reports to the Executive Director or the Sacramento Fine Arts Center Board's Treasurer and President, or other person designated by the President, or by the Board in writing.
Skills and Abilities.
- Excellent organizational, customer service and verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to competently use the tools employed by Sac Arts Center and continually upgrade your technical skills to meet the evolving needs of the Sac Arts Center.
- Effectively use print, electronic mail, and social media to communicate and promote programs, events, shows, workshops and other Sac Arts Center activities.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in order to facilitate the smooth operation of the Sac Arts Center.
- Basic accounting principles and familiarity with financial software.
- This position requires ability to multitask and strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while adhering to established accounting procedures
Duties.
- Financial:
- Timely and accurately process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
- Prepare financial reports.
- Conduct bank reconciliations
- Assist with tax records and filings
- Maintain accurate financial records and supporting the overall financial operations of our organization
- Create weekly bank deposits
- Facilities:
- Keep facility clean and in good working order.
- Follow opening and closing procedures.
- Administrative:
- Provide administrative support to the Executive Director.
- Answer the phone and respond to voicemail and email messages in a manner that ensures good customer service, including, but not limited to, finding the right person to respond, researching answers, and providing notice of unusual or important information to relevant persons.
- Ensure accurate data entry for Sac Art Center databases.
- Perform weekly computer backups.
- Record membership information in the membership database.
- Resolve conflicts and ensure the smooth operation and use of the Sac Arts Center.
- Assist, as necessary, with the sale of Gift Shop sales of art from shows.
- Provide basic administrative support for the clubs.
- Update, distribute and maintain files financial and other official documents for Sac Arts Center as needed.
- Respond to donations of $50 or more with a thank you letter.
- Provide backup for other staff as directed by the Executive Director, President or Personnel Committee.
- Other tasks as deemed necessary by the Executive Director, President or the Personnel Committee.
