Job Summary:
As an Electrical Designer, you are responsible for executing successful electrical design projects, meeting client requirements, and adhering to industry standards. You will manage design project timelines, budgets, and resources while also providing technical guidance and mentoring your team members.
- The Electrical Designer leads the electrical design team, ensuring successful project delivery, client satisfaction, and adherence to industry standards and company policies.

Key Responsibilities:
Project Management:
- Leadership: Lead and motivate a team of electrical designers and technicians to deliver high-quality electrical designs.
- Project Planning & Execution: Oversee the entire project lifecycle, from conceptual design through detailed design, documentation, and handover to the construction team.
- Scope Management: Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks and issues throughout the project lifecycle.
Design and Technical:
- Design Expertise: Apply advanced knowledge of electrical design principles, codes, and standards to develop and review electrical designs (NEC, UL508A, safety).
- Technical Support: Provide technical support and guidance to the team, addressing questions, troubleshooting issues, and resolving design conflicts.
- Staying Current: Keep abreast of the latest technologies, industry trends, and best practices in electrical design.
Client Relations:
- Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain effective communication and build strong relationships with clients and other stakeholders.
- Requirements Management: Translate client requirements into detailed electrical design specifications.
- Client Support: Address client inquiries, provide project updates, and ensure client satisfaction.
Compliance and Standards:
- Code Compliance: Ensure all electrical designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
- Quality Control: Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure designs are accurate and reliable.
- Safety: Prioritize safety in all aspects of design and construction.
Financial Management:
- Budget Management: Prepare and manage project budgets, monitor expenditures, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Time Management: Ensure efficient use of team resources and project time.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Project Success Rate: Measured by the percentage of projects completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. .
- Client Satisfaction: Measured through client feedback surveys and project close-out discussions.
- Team Performance: Measured by individual employee performance evaluations, employee engagement scores, and team productivity metrics.
- Safety Performance: Measured by the number and severity of safety incidents on projects.
- Cost Performance: Measured by the percentage of projects completed within budget.
- Project Delivery Time: Measured by the average time to complete projects.
- Staff Retention: Measured by employee turnover rate within the team.
- Employee Growth and Development: Measured by participation in training programs and successful completion of performance goals.

Job Qualifications:
- Associates degree in Electrical Design or related field.
- 5+ years of electrical design experience at a system integration company
- 2+ years in a leadership or project management role.
- In-depth knowledge of NEC, UL508A, and relevant electrical codes/standards.
- Proficiency with electrical CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical).
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, budgets, and deadlines.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to interface with clients, vendors, and internal teams.
- BOM creation and documentation
- Industrial automation knowledge
Preferred Qualifications (can be a plus, but not always required):
- TÜV Safety Experience a plus
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, safety standards, and lean principles.
- Prior experience working in a systems integration or custom equipment environment.
- Track record of process improvement and driving standardization across teams.
