Engineering Intern – Sigma DG Fiberglass Systems

Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Engineering Intern to support our design and manufacturing teams. This role provides hands-on experience in SolidWorks CAD modeling, technical drawing creation, 3D printing, and CAM programming. The ideal candidate will collaborate with engineers to develop and refine component designs while maintaining drawing databases and ensuring design accuracy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize SolidWorks CAD software to create and model parts per design requirements.
- Assist in technical drawing creation, including manufacturing, customer, assembly, and exploded-view drawings.
- Develop animations and renderings to support engineering concepts.
- Manage drawing revisions and maintain an organized drawing database.
- Design basic shop floor equipment for production efficiency.
- Create STL files and optimize designs for 3D printing.
- Support model creation for CAM programming.
- Operate FormLabs printers and related components, ensuring proper usage and maintenance.
- Utilize FormLabs slicer software for 3D print preparation.
- Ensure proper handling and care of resins and IPA in printing processes.
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Materials Engineering (or a related field).
- Proficiency in SolidWorks CAD modeling is required.
- Understanding of CAM programming and 3D printing processes.
- Experience with FormLabs printers and components is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
