If you are currently enrolled in college and interested in water resources and sustainable groundwater management, DWR may have an opportunity for you!
In a trainee capacity and under close supervision, the Engineering and Architectural Sciences Student Assistant will assist with various tasks in support of geologic, hydrogeologic, hydrologic, and water quality investigations. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to assist with groundwater and field data collection.

Special Requirements:
Travel throughout the State of California may be required.
Student Assistant employees are paid hourly and are limited to 1500 hours per 12 consecutive months.
All applicants for Student Assistant positions must meet the following departmental eligibility requirements:
- Enrolled in nine (9) semester/eight (8) quarter units for undergraduate students or six (6) semester/four (4) quarter units for graduate students.
- Achieved a 2.0 grade point average in the most recently completed academic term.
- Declared a major related to the duties of the advertised position and enrolled in coursework required for that major.
