School-Based Community Mental Health Therapist - SCHOOL HOURS

Overview:

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled LPC, LMSW, LCSW, or LCPC to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a dedicated and compassionate School-Based Community Mental Health Therapist to provide high-quality, evidence-based mental health services to students within a school setting. This role focuses on improving students’ emotional and behavioral well-being and supporting families and school staff through a collaborative, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive approach.

 

We provide school-based community mental health services in Nampa School District, Boise School District, and WestAda School District. We are searching for clinicians who would love to work school hours and with kids at a school site. We also have community sites for clinicians who would prefer to work in both schools and the community or virtually. 

Key Responsibilities:

Client Counseling:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual, group, and family therapy to students with emotional, behavioral, or mental health challenges.
  • Coordinate care with school staff, community partners, and other service providers to support holistic student well-being when appropriate.
  • Engage in regular supervision, training, and professional development.

Assessment and Evaluation:

  • Perform initial assessments, including interviews and psychological evaluations.
  • Diagnose mental health conditions in accordance with DSM-5 criteria.

Crisis Intervention:

  • Provide immediate support and intervention for clients in crisis situations.
  • Collaborate with emergency services as needed.

Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate and confidential client records in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Document treatment plans, progress notes, and session summaries.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
  • Licensure: Active and unrestricted license (e.g., LPC, LCSW, LMHC) in Idaho.
  • Skills:
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information.
    • Competence with electronic health record (EHR) systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Training in play therapy (or willingness to be trained) and/or trauma therapy. (EMDR or other)
  • Experience working with diverse populations.
