Under the direction of both undergraduate and graduate academic advisors, the student administrative support assistant will provide clerical, administrative, and event support for the Public Health Student Affairs office.

Job Duties

  • Provide administrative support to the Public Health Student Affairs team such as data entry, filing, answering emails, etc.
  • Serve as front-desk contact for the Public Health Student Affairs office, create a welcoming environment for all visitors, including faculty, department staff, and students
  • Answer general advising questions related to policies and procedures from students
  • Practice critical thinking to navigate various projects assigned by different Student Affairs staff
  • Assist in the drafting and creating of program documents and flyers
  • Provide support to Student Affairs event planning and coordination
  • Search confidential student information in WebAdmin and Slate
  • Complete special projects related to Public Health Student Affairs as assigned

Qualifications

  • Willing to take initiative, think outside of the box, and be open to feedback
  • Outstanding customer service, including a friendly and helpful attitude
  • High attention to detail
  • Dependable, responsible, and strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Be able to work well in a fast-paced environment and be able to adapt quickly to changes in processes and information and work towards deadlines
  • Strong computer skills and ability to quickly learn about new technology
  • Experience working with diverse populations is highly desired
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel), Zoom, and Google Drive is highly desired

Work hours

  • Available to work between the hours of 8:00am-4:30pm Monday-Friday
  • Be able to start the position on 09/22/25
  • Part-time available
  • This position will be in person, with remote work available on a case-by-case basis
  • This position will run through June 30, 2026, with the possibility to extend into the next academic year based on funding.
  • Anticipated Work-Study for 2025-2026 academic year required (for undergraduate student applicants)
  • Pay will be $16.50/hr
     

Location
Three (3) positions will be hired for this role. One will work closely with the undergraduate team, and two with the graduate team. Location of the role will depend on the team the student will work with. Students should be comfortable working in either location.
