UofI Co-op Program Application (Fall 2025 - Summer 2026)
About the Program:
A co-op, short for cooperative education, gives the opportunity to gain real work experience that is related to your major or career goals. The program alternates terms of full-time classroom study with 3-12 months of full- or part-time, discipline-related employment.
The co-op program is open to all UofI majors and are available for both full-time and part-time opportunities.
This application is the first step (and the vetting process) to participate in the Co-op Program at the University of Idaho. This application is for any duration (3-12 months) in the following Co-op Terms:
- Fall 2025
- Spring 2026
- Summer 2026

- You can complete 1-2 co-ops (semester + summer), and gain up to a year of career experience prior to graduation.
Qualifications:
- Junior Standing (by time of co-op, can apply during sophomore year). Possible option for some sophomores depending on college, major, and courses completed. *Some colleges and departments at UofI have their own specific academic standing requirements. Some colleges (Engineering, Business) also review applications to approve students for the program.
- Admitted or Current U of I Student
- Minimum Cumulative GPA of 2.5

Resume or CV (your resume should be reviewed by Career Services prior to application)
Statement of Intent -- 500 word maximum - include:
- 1) why you want to participate in the Co-op program,
- 2) areas of interest (industries, companies, skill areas, educational interests) ,
- 3) what strengths/skills you bring to the program and
- 4) specify which co-op schedule you are interested in: Winter start (Spring term-summer), Summer start (summer-Fall term), or open to either.
