Job Title: Event Management Intern (What’s Your Everest)
Position Type: Temporary Seasonal Internship
Reports To: Executive Director
Location: Hybrid - Remote with required in-person availability in Fort Collins, CO and Winter Park, CO
Dates: June 1, 2025-September 7, 2025 (Event date September 6)
Hours: Average 10-15 hours/week (June-August); ~30-40 hours the week of the event (Sept 2-7).
Pay: $20/hour, schedule agreed upon in advance

About What’s Your Everest:
What’s Your Everest is our signature inclusive hiking event that brings together people of all abilities to form rope teams and summit personal mountains—both literal and metaphorical. Participants, supporters, and volunteers collaborate to create a one-of-a-kind community event that embodies the No Barriers spirit of perseverance, teamwork, and possibility.
Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented intern with a passion for event management to support the planning and execution of the 2025 What’s Your Everest event. This internship offers hands-on experience in event logistics, communications, and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with event logistics including registration, volunteer coordination, and vendor management
- Support communication with participants, partners, and vendors via email and phone
- Help maintain documents and schedules using Google Sheets and other tools
- Participate in planning meetings and contribute to team brainstorming and problem-solving
- Assist with packing and transporting materials to event locations
- Provide on-site support at the event (Sept 5–7), including setup, check-in, and tear down
- Other duties as assigned to ensure a successful event experience for all involved
Required Qualifications
- Interest in pursuing a career in event management or nonprofit operations
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable using Google Workspace (Gmail, Sheets, Docs, etc.)
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Able to lift up to 25 pounds independently and assist with event setup
- Must live in Colorado, with preference given to candidates based in Northern Colorado or Grand County
- Available to travel to Fort Collins as needed and required to be on-site in Winter Park, CO from Sept 5–7
