Early College Student Success Ambassadors
Early College Student Success Ambassadors support full-time staff in assisting College NOW scholars and degree-seeking cohort students in navigating and leveraging the early college opportunities provided by Heartland. The primary responsibilities of this position involve attention to detail and customer service for data entry, event planning, program assessment, scholarship selection, website updates, and student connections. Ambassadors receive the necessary training for managing sensitive information.
Position Duties Include:
- Reviewing, tracking, and storing student data in appropriate databases.
- Maintaining confidentiality of student admission and enrollment records.
- Assisting with website management and marketing material development.
- Representing Early College Student Success at scholar and cohort meetings/events.
- Supporting onboarding & transition efforts for scholars and degree-seeking cohort students.
- Engaging with current early college students/families/constituents.
- Support front desk coverage.
Qualifications and Expectations:
- Enrolled in at least 6 semester hours at HCC or ISU (excluding summer semesters) with a minimum 2.5 college GPA.
- Can work independently, is self-motivated, willing to take initiative, and can take constructive feedback.
- Can demonstrate the following standards: timeliness, attention to detail, ethical behavior, effective communication, sensitivity to confidential information, and critical thinking/problem-solving.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous College NOW Student 18 years or older.
- Experience working in an office setting.
