Job Summary: 
Owensboro Community and Technical College is recruiting for a Program Facilitator/Career Navigator position to help adult students achieve their career and educational goals through innovative work and learn programs. This position supports student success by providing recruitment, retention, and intervention efforts for certificate programs and other short-term credential pathways. This position guides students from enrollment to completion, helping them overcome barriers to stay on track. Occasional evening hours may be required for recruiting events and success coach services. This position reports to our Workforce Solutions department. 

 

Essential duties and responsibilities: 
The duties/responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Recruit students for work and learn and short-term credential programs, as well as other workforce development initiatives, and apprenticeship programs.  This will involve making weekly posts to social media platforms and other strategic marketing efforts.
  • Provide project management with a particular focus on employer-sponsored programs. This includes work and learn programs, apprenticeships, and short-term credential programs.
  • Serve as a Career Navigator and Success Coach and manage student success activities to ensure career navigation, student retention, and intervention strategies are employed. This includes providing a case management approach to guarantee student success, including assistance with admissions, financial aid, scholarship, third-party payments, and other applicable applications and necessary documentation in a timely manner and according to established internal and external deadlines. This also includes overseeing the advising, mentoring, college and/or career transitioning efforts, particularly as designated within a specific program, project, or partnership.
  • Perform all other WS duties as assigned.

 

Additional Skills

  • Must be committed to managing different programs at one time.
  • Must be able to maintain organized records and adhere to multiple established internal and external deadlines.
  • Must be able to assist with marketing and recruitment efforts through the utilization of social media platforms.

 

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree (Communication, Business, Social Sciences, Student Services, Educational Leadership, or related areas) and four (4) years related work experience or equivalent.
