Designer/Drafter - Cabinetry

 

About Landis Cabinetry

Landis Cabinetry has been providing quality custom cabinetry and furniture to the high-end residences of the greater Jackson Hole, WY area since 2014. Our full-size construction and finish shop, located in Teton Valley, ID,  is operated by a 12-person team of cabinetmakers, finish specialists, designers, and project managers. 

With a growing shop, we’re looking to add a Designer/Drafter who can assist our Project and Design Managers with the cabinetry/furniture design and drafting process in order to deliver detailed shop drawings for project design teams.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Establish designs for cabinets and furniture based off of construction documents and collaboration with Project/Design Managers and project design team
  • Draw and detail the full shop drawings for cabinet packages or furniture to meet shop and project deadlines
  • Communicate with contractors, product vendors, material suppliers, and our shop team to ensure proper construction and installation of cabinets and furniture
  • Research materials, hardware, accessories, appliances, and finishes in order to understand and provide comprehensive design parameters
  • Maintain proper organization of files, project notes, communications, photos, product literature, samples, and tools

 

Skills We’re Looking For

  • Collaborating with project teams to accomplish project goals
  • A strong sense of accountability and initiative, able to ask questions when needed, and open to feedback
  • Reading and interpreting construction drawings and design documents
  • Proficiency in CAD programs. Acceptable CAD programs include AutoCad, ArchiCad, Revit, Rhino, SolidWorks, Sketchup, or similar depending on use and description
  • Able to conceptualize designs in both a technical and presentable fashion
  • Apply basic understanding of woodworking and construction methods to final designs

 

Helpful Experience/Skills:

  • Construction or woodworking experience
  • Customer service
  • Microsoft Excel
  • Project Scheduling
  • Experience with parametrics in CAD and/or AI-assisted design and shop drawing production

Landis Cabinetry Shop Overview: 

  • In-house architectural and project management team. Archicad is the main CAD program used; training specific to Archicad will be provided
  • In-house finishing department
  • Our departments all work closely together and there is often a great deal of collaboration/crossover between them. Employees are exposed to all aspects of custom cabinetry, and are encouraged to widen their skill sets through working across departments if they so desire

 

Pay Range & Benefits:
