Position: Case Manager, Rochester Refugee Resettlement Services, Inc. RRRS is a non-profit independent agency that helps refugees strive to be self-sustaining neighbors while still maintaining their own cultural traditions. RRRS provides housing, case management, job placement and referral services to refugees and asylum seekers.   

 

The Case Manager is responsible for the providing case management services to refugees and asylum seekers. This may include providing referrals to legal services or direct legal support as allowed by DOJ accreditation, work authorization applications and follow-up, housing services, food pantries, ESL and employment programs and referrals to mental health, financial assistance and youth support programs. The Case manager works closely and in tandem with other case managers and consultants in thee RRRS team.

Executive Director & CEO of Rochester Refugee Resettlement Services.

 

Job Overview:

 

Case Management. This position oversees and manages the cases for refugees and asylum seekers at Rochester Refugee Resettlement Services. The case manager works individually with each client, and collaborates with the rest of the RRRS staff and support service representatives to provide the best possible support to our refugees and asylum seekers to become self-sufficient. The Case Manager always seeks to empower clients to manage for themselves whether it be transportation. 

 

 

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Interact and connect with our asylum seekers and asylees to learn about their past experiences, current situations, and future goals.
  • Coordinate and communicate with available services for each client.
  • Address the various needs of each client, from Medicaid to driver’s licenses to baby supplies, etc.
  • Arrange for transportation either by personal shuttle or through volunteer drivers or us. We have bus passes if needed.
  • Assist clients with documents and applications relating to DHS, Employment, and other relevant services.
  • Any other  relevant service to assist refugees as they strive to establish successful self-sufficient lives in Rochester.

 

Qualifications:

  • MSW (MASTERS IN SOCIAL WORK) is required to apply to this position. 
  • Experience in Human Services, Case Management, Social Work, Political Science, or a related field preferred, but not required.
  • Valid NYS Driver’s License with reliable transportation.
  • Fluency in a secondary language is helpful.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and organizational skills.+
  • Ability to travel to home visits and other service agencies to serve the client
