Minecraft Playtest Coordinator (Gaming)

Do you have a passion for gaming? Join the my3Twelve team as a Playtest Coordinator, focusing on products in the Minecraft franchise. This fully onsite role involves overseeing the entire playtest process, improving the quality of product releases, building team cohesion, and driving playtest engagement and participation. 

As a Playtest Coordinator, you will be responsible for setting up and maintaining the playtest lab, coordinating with teams to ensure builds are ready, recruiting and managing participants, facilitating sessions, and reporting feedback and bugs. Your role is crucial in ensuring smooth playtests and providing valuable insights to improve our clients' products. 

  

Key Responsibilities  

  • Evangelize and recruit participants for playtest sessions. Ensure that playtest participants feel welcomed and encourage them to gain a deeper knowledge of Minecraft
  • Coordinate with multiple teams. Determine focus areas for playtesting, monitor participation, and drive creation of participant surveys
  • Manage playtest calendar and sessions. Ensure project milestones are met and new features are adequately covered
  • Set up, configure, and maintain hardware and software. This includes both PC and consoles for the playtest lab
  • Facilitate onsite playtesting. Communicate participation processes and administer dedicated playtest servers
  • Validate playtest builds. Identify and address playtest blocking issues or find workarounds
  • Document playtest setup procedures. Ensure clear and comprehensive documentation
  • Report on playtest feedback and trends
  • Collect, analyze, and ensure bugs identified during playtests are filed

 

Qualifications  

  • Strong knowledge and passion for playing Minecraft
  • Knowledge of dedicated server hosting on Minecraft
  • Ability to lead a playtest session with several dozen participants
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to communicate key learnings to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with different teams
  • Experience with setting up, troubleshooting, and maintaining PCs and consoles
  • Experience with Excel, OneNote, Outlook
  • Experience with bug tracking systems like ADO or JIRA
