Student Receptionist /Social Media Content Creator - Career Services
Basic Function
The student receptionist/social media content creator is responsible for greeting Career Services’ clients, on the phone and in person, and directing them to the appropriate staff and/or resources to meet their needs. They are also responsible for creating, and posting social media content.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Inform clients about the services and resources available in Career Services.
- Set up appointments for staff members.
- Post jobs and internships to Handshake.
- Assist staff with the duties and functions of the office (word processing, mailings, answering phones, copying, opening and distributing mail, etc.).
- Assist in maintaining office resources, such as the computers and employer file materials.
- Help to promote all special programs and services offered through Career Services.
- Assist in job fair preparation before and during the event.
- Assist employers and students during on-campus interviews and other recruitment events.
- Always work in a safe manner.
- Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
- Be enrolled at least half-time and be free of academic and/or disciplinary probation and maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.0 while employed.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to deal with diverse population in a positive and friendly manner.
- Strong communication and listening skills.
- Demonstrate a sincere interest in helping people.
- Knowledge of and familiarity with computer applications run from Windows format.
- Willingness to learn all aspects of Career Services’ operations, resources and services.
- Ability to write effectively.
- Good organizational abilities.
- Willingness to be a participating member of the Career Services staff by making suggestions on how to be more efficient and effective in helping our clients.

up to 15 hrs/week
More hours may come available throughout the semester and during events
Pay Rate
$12.73
