Civil Engineering - Assistant Engineer

We are looking for an individual who wants to join a team of engineers that work on residential & commercial projects in Northern California, including the Napa Valley and the surrounding areas. Our goal is to provide sustainable solutions related to land development and infrastructure. The Job

As a full-time Project Engineer at REB Engineering, you are responsible for specific engineering and design tasks as part of a team to successfully complete project tasks. You will utilize your education, training, and experience to develop creative designs, and to manage the construction of projects. Technical areas of design work include site grading designs for buildings and roads, building plans, stormwater mitigation measures, utility & infrastructures, structural design calculations for lateral forces, beam & shear walls & foundation designs, structural detailing, and more.

Job Requirements

  • B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field.
  • California E.I.T. certification and the ability to pursue and obtain a California Professional Engineering license (P.E.) within the first year.
  • 2+ years of experience using AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D. The candidate should be familiar with the capabilities and operations of Autodesk software.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to attend site visits which may involve walking and hiking on uneven terrain and in inclement weather conditions for an extended amount of time.
  • The ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs for short distances
  • Experience in Hydraulics and Hydrology, and familiarity with Low Impact Development (LID) measures is a plus.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • The ability to problem-solve, complete assigned tasks efficiently, and meet project deadlines is a must.
