Role Description
Our Banquet Manager will instill a strong atmosphere of service excellence in the Banquet team. You will develop guidelines and goals within the structure of the budget, achieving results through prudent management techniques and cost controlling measures. This position will report to the Director of F&B Operations and work very closely with the Event Services team to provide event experiences to our guests that are unique and unmatched in the Central Oregon area.
The Banquet Manager position is a salaried role with a range of $75,000 - $85,000 depending on experience. Varied schedule including holidays, weekends, and evenings is required.
General Responsibilities
- Oversees all banquet service operations and ensures that all banquet service details are executed.
- Responsible for the performance and goal setting of the banquet service staff, including direct supervision of the banquet staff.
- Responsible for delivering the financial results set forth in the annual budget and monthly forecast, in particular in regards to banquet service labor, beverage cost, and operational expenses including linen, paper supplies, floral and décor and other operating supplies.
- Collaborate with Catering/Conference Services, Food & Beverage managers and the Culinary team to ensure that quality service is provided for all meeting and banquet guests.
- Manage the cost and quality control of banquet services.
- Maintain procedures to ensure outstanding customer service and compliance with company policies.
- Ensure banquet facilities are in compliance with health and fire department (safety) regulations.
- Assist the Director of Outlets / GM in the creation of the annual budget, business plan and monthly forecasts and reports.
- Develop a consistent and effective process for interviews, selection and onboarding of all new Banquet team members.
- Execute performance evaluations for existing team and ensure that high levels of performance are maintained for each team member.
- Work directly with the Director of Human Resources to address all matters of employee relations and develop a strong employee engagement and recognition program.
- Able to assist with other F&B outlet operations and coverage when applicable
- Perform additional responsibilities and duties as assigned.
Skills/Traits
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality, or a related degree preferred
- Equivalent experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree
- Minimum of 3 years experience in Banquets, Food & Beverage, Conference Services or a related discipline is required.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a supervisory role.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills required.
- Positive interpersonal skills required.
- Strong project management skills required.
- Proficiency in the following software required; MS Word, Excel.
- Experience in a 4-diamond resort or higher preferred.
- Ability to obtain Food Handlers Card within 30 days of hire (cost eligible for reimbursement)
- OLCC Certification
