Intern - Marketing and Communications

Now hiring for Fall 2025!

Rod Library seeks to fill our Marketing and Communications Intern position. The successful candidate would have the opportunity to gain hands-on marketing and communication experience while also providing support to the library and the Marketing and Public Relations Specialist in the completion of PR, marketing, and communication projects. The primary duties include independently writing and gathering content, photos, videos, and supporting information about our services and user experiences. Content will be used in digital and print formats for items such as social media platforms, announcements, advertisements, press releases, and newsletters. Other duties may include marketing and support for Library events.


Number of Openings: 2
Hourly Wage Rate: $14.00
Hours Per Week: 15-20
Schedule: Desired hours of availability between Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 5 p.m., with an occasional night and weekend for events.
Job Duration: Academic year only (Fall & Spring Semesters)
Preferred start date: August 25, 2025

 

Required qualifications:

  • Major in IDS, graphic design, marketing, communications, or related fields.
  • Experience with social media platforms such as (but not limited to) Facebook, Instagram, and X.
  • Experience with graphic design software.
  • Evidence of strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Possesses strong computer skills.
  • Performs well without supervision and in a timely manner.
  • Detail-oriented, motivated, and organized.
  • Strong writing, editing, and professional communication skills.
  • Organized, self-directed, and enthusiastic.


Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with Adobe Suite.
  • Experience with Social Media Managing Software.
  • Knowledgeable about library resources.
  • Photography and video editing experience.
