Compliance Officer Intern (DAP Documentation & Quality Review)

Location: Remote | Hours: Part-time, flexible (10–15 hours/week)

New Leaf Peer 2 Peer, LLC is seeking a highly organized and detail-focused college student to join our team as a Compliance Officer Intern. This position focuses on supporting the accuracy, consistency, and quality of health session documentation using the DAP (Data, Assessment, Plan) format. The ideal candidate is interested in healthcare, mental health, public health, or social work, and is eager to gain hands-on experience in documentation review, quality assurance, and compliance tracking.

Key Responsibilities:

Review and evaluate DAP documentation submitted by peer recovery coaches for completeness, consistency, and adherence to organizational standards

Identify and report documentation errors or missing information

Enter and update records in our internal database and compliance systems

Support internal quality audits and documentation reviews

Assist in developing documentation checklists and feedback tools for staff

Participate in weekly compliance and quality team meetings

Ensure all client session records meet Medicaid and state documentation requirements

Qualifications:

Enrolled in a college program related to public health, health administration, psychology, pre-health, or social work

Strong attention to detail and high standards for written documentation

Familiarity with patient confidentiality and HIPAA (a plus, not required)

Ability to work independently, manage time well, and meet review deadlines

Comfortable using digital databases, spreadsheets, and document trackers
