JOB DESCRIPTION
Pediatric Potential is currently seeking a Social Impact Content Fellow, who is keen to use their background and knowledge of pediatric psychosocial care to develop original content geared towards the business objective of increasing organizational brand awareness via social media and fundraising platforms.
This fellowship will provide the opportunity to work closely with our international team to create an innovative online brand awareness plan. The Social Impact Content Fellow will support our Executive Team and will be given the opportunity to utilize their studies and/or past work experience in a practical manner.
Those with previous non-profit work experience and interest in our mission are encouraged to apply.
Key responsibilities include:
- Creating original content in-line with our brand identity and mission, including, but not limited to content: to empower parents/caregivers to support their children in hospital, highlight the work of the Child Life Specialist/Hospital Play Specialist, non-pharmaceutical pain management techniques, global projects, the work of our partners and team, related research, and online fundraising campaigns.
- Updating our social media content calendar
- Scheduling content for social media platforms such as LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram
- Strategizing new ideas and opportunities for success
- Tracking social media strategy progress and metrics (followers, shares, etc.)
- Attending a weekly team meeting with our Executive Team
QUALIFICATIONS
- Currently enrolled as an undergraduate student or recent graduate in Child Life, Health Play, Child Development, Education, Therapeutic Recreation or a related field
- Understands the mission of our organization, including the brand, target audience, and goals
- A strong eye for visual composition and communication
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Canva
- Professionalism and ability to collaborate with our Executive Team to achieve organizational goals
- Organized, with an ability to meet agreed deadlines
- Self-starter; creative problem-solver
- Ability to work remotely and connect via web conferencing, file sharing and messaging platforms
Suggested skills, not required:
- An aspiring or current Certified Child Life Specialist (CCLS) or Hospital Play Specialist (HSP) with volunteer/work experience with children, adolescents, and families
- Volunteer/work experience with hospitalized children
- Well-versed in Internet technologies and social media applications
- Interest in graphic design, marketing, public relations, or a related field
- Ability to interpret social media engagement metrics
- Background in marketing, communication, and/or non-profit business development
COMMITMENT
- 5-10 hours/week for a minimum of six (6) months with an option for extension up to twelve (12) months, depending on organizational needs and the interest/availability of the candidate.
- Flexible start/end date(s), depending on the college/university requirements of the applicant (if applicable).
LOCATION
Remote with flexible hours.
COMPENSATION
This is an unpaid position. This post offers an excellent opportunity to work on substantive projects with a global non-profit organization to include in your work portfolio and can result in a valuable reference for future endeavors. It can also be utilized for school credit (if applicable) by the college/university of the applicant.
