Position Overview
Generational Wealth Educators is offering an exciting internship opportunity for an organized and enthusiastic individual to join our Academy of Future Leaders (AFL) Summer Program as an Onsite Program Event Facilitator Intern. This 3-week summer program, running from July 7 to July 25, 2025, Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 2:15 PM daily, is designed to empower youth ages 13–18 by equipping them with essential skills in leadership, financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and wellness.
As an intern, you will gain hands-on experience in event coordination, youth engagement, and program facilitation. You will assist with the logistical aspects of interactive workshops, personal reflection sessions, business planning activities, and immersive virtual reality experiences that help students build confidence, financial acumen, and long-term vision. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the growth and development of the next generation of leaders.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in planning, organizing, and facilitating onsite workshops, training sessions, and networking events for the Academy of Future Leaders Program, a
- Support event logistics, including venue preparation, materials coordination, and participant registration.
- Act as a point of contact during events, helping attendees, mentors, vendors, and partners with questions and needs.
- Help ensure events run smoothly, including managing schedules, assisting presenters, and engaging participants.
- Collaborate with program staff to align event activities with the Academy of Future Leaders Program’s goals.
- Provide administrative support by tracking attendance, collecting feedback, and helping with post-event evaluations.
- Foster a positive, inclusive environment that encourages participant engagement and learning.
- Assist with building relationships with community partners, vendors, and participants.
- Contribute to the ongoing development of the Academy of Future Leaders Program through event insights and participant interactions.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in or recently completed a degree program in Event Management, Community Development, Nonprofit Management, or a related field.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a passion for working with diverse communities.
- Interest in financial literacy, affordable housing, real estate, or community development.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Flexibility to attend program events, which may occur on evenings or weekends.
Preferred Experience
- Previous volunteer or internship experience in event planning or community engagement.
- Understanding of financial literacy or real estate education programs is a plus.

This is an onsite internship position based in Mecklenburg.
