Internship Summary
Under the supervision of the AVP of Philanthropy, the Development Internship offers hands-on experience and exposure to various facets of the development/fundraising department at Parc Center for Disabilities. Potential candidates must demonstrate excellent organizational skills, strong written and verbal communication skills, critical thinking skills, and a comfort level of asking community leaders and businesses to support Parc. A desire to support Parc’s mission is also critical to the internship success. Working on site at Parc Center for Disabilities’ campus, you’ll find a dedicated team, unified in building an engaged, people-centered work environment.

Responsibilities
- Support behind-the-scenes preparations for mail appeals, donor stewardship efforts, fundraising event preparation, internal and external marketing efforts, and volunteer engagement for various community and Parc activities.
- Support the acquisition efforts for auction items for Parc’s Black-Tie event and/or annual Golf Weekend event. Help with the tracking of these items and creating the online auction platform.
- Work with Parc’s development and operations teams to create donor and volunteer thank you gifts or stewardship pieces with the Parc participants.
- Participate in community and Parc tabling events that raise awareness and funds for Parc’s participants and programs or engage our Parc participants in the community.
- Help support the marketing efforts of Parc’s marketing team to tell the story of Parc and its impact in the community.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education, Training and Experience Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a relevant undergraduate or graduate program, or a recent graduate within 3 years in Non-Profit Management, Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Digital Design, or related field.
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
- Strong writing and editing skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to learn new ideas, skills and technologies.
- Commitment to quality and punctuality.
- Comfortable in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with donor management software auction event platforms is a plus.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Have a learning attitude and natural curiosity for how things work, with a desire to improve processes and procedures without judgement for how things were done in the past.
- Ability to read and follow instructions and safety precautions.
- Physical demands such as repetitive motion, standing, bending, kneeling, walking, and lifting for extended periods of time.
- Able to safely lift up to 50 pounds.
Schedule
- Duration of internship is as determined, by summer schedule, or by 15 week semester.
- Normal business hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
- Your schedule and duration may vary depending on business needs and other factors.
- This is an on-site role.
Salary Range
- $14.00/hr.
