This position serves as a ServiceNow System Administrator providing day-to-day ServiceNow System Administration, design, development, and implementation of IT Service Management (ITSM), IT Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM), SecOps (Security, IRM, BCM) solutions using system development lifecycle (SDLC) processes with special focus on Agile Development. 

In this role you will confer with users to determine technical requirements and conduct and coordinate in-depth technical research and systems analysis to create system designs. 

In addition, you will analyze and recommend new procedures and techniques to improve the supported application systems and/or sub-systems.

Essential Functions

  • Under general direction, serves as a ServiceNow System Administrator for the Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT), providing day-to-day ServiceNow System Administration, design, development, and implementation using system development lifecycle (SDLC) processes with special focus on Agile development.
  • Confers with users to determine technical requirements and conducts meetings with product owners, process owners, and other team members to gather, analyze, and elaborate requirements for system enhancements.
  • Analyzes and recommends new procedures and techniques to improve the supported application systems and/or sub-systems and Adheres to the adopted methodology standards to ensure integrity of the ServiceNow platform during maintenance and enhancement activities.
  • Serves on the team responsible for the support for scheduled and remedial maintenance to the assigned applications.
  • Keeps abreast of new developments in the information technology field by continuing education through meetings, training sessions, seminars, and conferences to increase familiarity with and remain current on products, vendors, techniques, and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to four (4) years of college with course work in computer science or directly related fields.
  • Requires one (1) year of professional experience in Application Services or a related Information Technology field.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • One (1) year of professional experience supporting application services using the full System Development Life Cycle (SDLC), with a special focus on Agile Development Principles, including participation in sprint-based planning, iterative releases, backlog grooming, and continuous delivery of platform enhancements.
  • One (1) year of professional experience performing application development and support, including applying systems analysis methodologies in the development and preparation of general design, detailed design documents, technical specifications, and supporting project artifacts.
  • One (1) year of professional experience utilizing enterprise tools and services, including Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Visio, Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), web services (SOAP and REST), and Active Directory, in support of ServiceNow system design, implementation, and maintenance activities.
  • One (1) year of professional experience utilizing development technologies such as JavaScript, AngularJS, HTML, XML, CSS, and SQL Server in support of application development, customization, and system integration efforts.
  • One (1) year of professional experience performing system analysis and development activities, including process flow charting, specification writing, script coding, testing, audit trail creation, control procedures, and performance tuning of applications and modules.
  • One (1) year of professional experience preparing testing specifications for new or modified programs and systems, including user interface testing, and validation of logic paths to ensure alignment with business requirements and platform integrity.
  • Ability to gain and maintain effective working relationships with associates, vendors, clients, and others.
  • Developed verbal and written communication skills to present technical information to others with clarity and precision.
