Location: Rexburg, Idaho
Hours: Full-time (40 hours/week)
Starting Pay: $16.00/hour
Language Requirement: Fluent in both Spanish and English

At Family Crisis Center, we are dedicated to promoting safety, self-sufficiency, hope, and healing for survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, and dating violence across Southeast Idaho. We are seeking a compassionate and driven Bilingual Victim Advocate to specialize in housing support—including the management of our emergency shelter and transitional housing advocacy.

Your fluency in Spanish and English will be instrumental in ensuring culturally competent support for our clients. If you’re passionate about housing justice, victim advocacy, and making a tangible impact every day, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Shelter Management: Oversee operations of the emergency shelter including daily support, policy compliance, and maintaining a safe, welcoming environment for residents.
  • Housing Advocacy: Assist survivors in accessing and transitioning into long-term or transitional housing; coordinate with landlords, agencies, and community partners.
  • Provide emotional support and empowerment-based advocacy to survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, and dating violence.
  • Assist clients in identifying and overcoming barriers to housing and other vital resources.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutors, and community service providers to advocate on behalf of survivors.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential client records.

What You Bring

Knowledge Requirements:

  • Understanding of domestic violence, sexual assault, dating violence, and stalking.
  • Familiarity with housing systems and resources, or a willingness to learn.
  • Knowledge of victim services and community support organizations (preferred).

Skills & Competencies:

  • Fluency in Spanish and English (required).
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
  • Tech-savvy, or willing to learn, including the use of case management software.
  • Cultural humility and a trauma-informed approach to client interaction.

Physical & Special Requirements:

  • Occasional lifting of light items (shelter supplies, donations, etc.).
  • Valid driver's license, proof of insurance, and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to work off-site and occasionally during evenings/weekends.
  • Completion of a 40-hour victim advocate training (provided if needed).
  • Background check clearance or ability to obtain one.
