This position is headquartered at our Milwaukee Office and will have the option to work hybrid for up to 95%. This schedule may change based on training or operational needs. Employees need to report to the 635 N 26 St. Milwaukee, WI office on their first day for onboarding and orientation.

Position Summary
This position provides accountability and oversight of the Wisconsin Shares Program by serving as a lead worker and ensuring staff’s awareness and compliance with the state and federal laws, administrate rules, and policies by training, assisting, and assisting in the assignment and review of work of Child Care Subsidy Specialist-Senior positions. Additionally, this position serves as the main point of contact for the unit and other community partners (child support, housing authority, W-2 etc.). This position coordinates efforts with Department of Human Services, Division of Hearing and Appeals, Legal Action of Wisconsin, W-2 Agencies, State of Wisconsin Offices and other internal and external community partners regarding fraud issues and ensuring there is no overlap of services.

Salary Information
The classification title for this position is Child Care Subsidy Specialist - Adv. The starting salary is between $28.00 and $31.00 per hour ($58,240 and $64,480 annually), depending on qualifications. Pay for current State of WI employees will be based on the compensation plan in effect at the time of the appointment. Pay for current state employees who are transferring will be determined based upon the pay on transfer rules (higher level duties or equity) as outlined in the compensation plan in effect at the time of appointment.
The pay schedule/range is 12-63. A one-year probationary period/ may be required.
Job Details
Due to the nature of the position, final candidates may be required to allow DCF to conduct a security background check to determine whether the circumstances of any pending charges or convictions would be substantially related to the job being filled.
Applicants must be legally entitled to work in the United States (i.e., a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, an alien authorized to work in the U.S. without DCF sponsorship.) The Department of Children and Families does not sponsor visas, either at time of hire or at any later time.
Qualifications
Minimally qualified applicants will have:
- Experience working with a public-assistance program or related programs
- Experience writing and interpreting information orally to client or customers
- Experience using CARES, CWW, CSAW, ECF, BRITS or other similar public-benefit databases
- Experience performing case review and/or audit for accuracy
Well-qualified applicants will have:
- Experience managing cases (creating referrals, gathering, updating and entering information) in BRITS or a similar program integrity public-benefit system
- Experience collaborating with a wide variety of stakeholders both internal and external to the organization
- Experience reviewing work product of lower-level staff and providing feedback and/or guidance to ensure the needs of the organization are met
