Biology Intern
Biology Intern
Location: San Diego, CA
Internship Dates: June 23 – September 13 (flexibility with dates as needed)
Neomorph is seeking a curious and motivated Biology Intern to join our team for the summer. This internship offers a hands-on opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research in targeted protein degradation, with a focus on exploring novel targets for molecular glue degraders.
Why intern at Neomorph?
As a mission-driven biotech company, Neomorph is committed to scientific innovation, collaboration, and inclusivity. Interns at Neomorph gain meaningful exposure to early drug discovery, work alongside experienced scientists, and develop skills that are broadly applicable across the life sciences. You’ll be part of a dynamic, supportive environment where your contributions can make a real impact — and where we value learning just as much as results.
Internship Project and Responsibilities:
The internship project will focus on target validation, structure-activity relationship (SAR) support, and development of functional assays for exploratory targets.
Key responsibilities may include:
- Conducting SAR screening and hit confirmation using assays such as HiBiT, Abby, and CellTiter-Glo (CTG)
- Generating and characterizing stable cell lines
- Performing cellular TCF assays and flow cytometry
- Supporting CRISPR knockout studies
- Collaborating with team members to interpret experimental data and troubleshoot assays
Who You Are:
- You are enrolled in a Bachelors or Masters program and have completed at least one year of undergraduate studies. Foundational/introductory Biology courses preferred.
- You have hands-on laboratory experience in biology, ideally in an academic or industry setting
- You’re familiar with basic molecular and cell biology techniques (e.g., tissue culture, PCR, western blotting, bacterial transformation, mammalian cell transfection)
- You’re enthusiastic about learning and contributing to scientific discovery
- You enjoy working collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
