Digital Marketing Specialist

Synoptic Data is a 100% remote, atmospheric and earth science “Data as a Service” (DaaS) and “Software as a Service” (SaaS) company. We are experiencing rapid growth and are seeking a Digital Marketing Specialist to support the overall digital marketing strategy and promote products and services for the largest real-time environmental data platform in the world. This is a great opportunity to work with cutting-edge weather technology and data solutions.

This is an entry-level position where the candidate will be responsible for assisting in the execution of online marketing campaigns across various digital channels, such as social media, email, and the company website, primarily focused on promoting relevant content, managing social media presence, analyzing basic data, and supporting the overall digital marketing strategy under the guidance of senior team members. This position is ideal for individuals with a foundational understanding of digital marketing principles and a passion for learning new online marketing tools and techniques.

Essential Job Functions

Content Promotion:

  • Assist in developing engaging social media posts and advertisements for various platforms (Twitter, LinkedIn, & YouTube). 
  • Manage/maintain Synoptic’s social media presence to build the brand.
  • Review and update blog articles and website content with SEO best practices in mind. 
  • Create and schedule email marketing campaigns in our CRM, including creating and maintaining contact lists. 
  • Design, execute, and analyze A/B tests to optimize messaging, creative, targeting, and channel selection, driving continuous improvement in acquisition marketing performance.

Social Media Management:

  • Monitor and respond to social media comments and messages promptly. 
  • Track social media analytics to identify trends and optimize engagement. 
  • Assist in developing and implementing social media strategies to increase brand awareness and follower growth. 

Website Maintenance:

  • Update website content with new information and promotions. 
  • Monitor website analytics to identify areas for improvement.
  • Assist in basic website optimization for search engines (SEO). 
  • Strong understanding of Google Analytics, use of keywords, and Google advertising.

CRM/Data Analysis:

  • Assist in tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) across digital marketing channels. 
  • Manage CRM – Dashboards, Reports and closely work with Sales on Funnel Metrics
  • Generate basic reports on campaign performance and provide insights to the team. 
  • Evaluate emerging trends and technologies for Marketing DaaS / SaaS products.

Administrative Tasks:

  • Use AI tools for assisting prospecting and other marketing tasks.
  • Maintain a content calendar for social media and email marketing campaigns. 
  • Stay updated on the latest digital marketing trends and technologies. 
  • Assist with marketing email list management.
  • Other marketing-related tasks, as assigned by the Director.

Qualifications

Required

  • 1 to 2 years of experience in a marketing or digital marketing role.
  • Excellent communication skills and a marketing-minded approach to brand and product promotion.
  • Ability to learn new marketing tools and channels, as well as other technical details to utilize them in your daily work.
  • Experience using CRM tools like Salesforce, Zoho, HubSpot, or equivalent.
  • Experience with Word Press websites and ability to coordinate updates with our web vendor.
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and capable of working independently / remote within the team.
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms and their best practices.
  • Basic knowledge of SEO principles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Analytics.
  • Passion for digital marketing and staying current with industry trends, including AI tools.

Desired

  • Background in marketing. Meteorology, environmental science, or a related field is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of DaaS / SaaS-type businesses and/or weather / environmental data applications.
  • Familiarity with graphic design tools is a plus.
  • Experience with digital marketing with DaaS or SaaS products and services.
