This on-site position is in located in our Juneau Headquarters Office, in the State Office -Building, in beautiful downtown Juneau, Alaska.  This position is not eligible for telework.
The Division of Investments with the Department of Commerce Community and Economic Development is recruiting for a Office Assistant 2 (PCN 08-9065).

What you will be doing:

This position provides office assistance and clerical services to support the Division of Investments for the Juneau headquarters office. The areas of assistance include but are not limited to basic accounting and inventory work, ordering and tracking, documentation processing, record keeping and basic reporting, as well as other clerical support. 

This position serves as part of a great team supporting the Director`s Office and multiple sections within the organizational unit under the direction of the Administrative Officer 2. This position is for Alaskan residents only and is not available for telework assignment.

The Division of Investments administers and services several loan programs under the Department of Commerce, Community and Economic Development. These programs were primarily designed to promote economic development through direct state lending in industries and areas of the state that are not adequately serviced by the private sector.

Where you will be working:

As this is an on-site position and not eligible for telework, you will be working in our headquarters office located on the 9th floor of the State Office Building in beautiful downtown Juneau. You will enjoy a collaborative atmosphere in a fully resourced and modern office space, with splendid views of Mount Juneau and the Gastineau Channel. 

The 9th floor, has a fully equipped and spacious break room, that you will have full access to, as well as easy access to various restaurants and coffee shops downtown.

To be successful in this position a candidate will need the following core competencies:

  • Clerical:  Knowledge of filing, typing, entering data, maintaining records, using and completing forms.  Maintaining both an electronic and paper filing system and responding to information requests from multiple sections within the division.  Uses computers, software applications, databases, and automated systems to accomplish work product.
  • Customer Service Excellence: Dedicated to providing exceptional customer service. Shows empathy and professionalism when addressing inquiries and resolving issues, ensuring a positive experience for clients and colleagues alike
  • Organizational and Self-Management: Demonstrates exceptional organizational skills, ensuring all tasks and projects are managed efficiently and effectively. Capable of maintaining orderly files, and databases, contributing to a seamless workflow.   • Attention to Detail: Ability to be thorough when performing work. Including strong attention to detail, accuracy.  Processing of confidential material relating to personnel and payroll, etc.
