Junior Tax Accountant
Our firm seeks recent and soon-to-be graduates for our Public Accounting Firm in New York, NY. Our office is located in Midtown Manhattan, NY. Our ideal candidate will have a strong desire to work in the accounting field with an interest in tax and exposure to audit. This candidate will be responsible for reviewing and filing client workpapers, communicating with clients, and preparing individual, partnership, and corporate tax returns. This candidate will also complete assorted general accounting and financial statement work with a keen attention to detail and accuracy. In this role, the candidate will have the opportunity to report to, and learn directly from, our firm’s managers and partners.
Responsibilities:
- Preparation of individual, partnership, corporate, fiduciary, and tax-exempt entity tax returns
- Preparation of tax projections, sales tax returns, and other tax forms
- Communicate directly with clients to serve specific needs and identify potential value-added solutions
- Prepare engagement letters, reconcile balance sheet accounts, prepare workpapers and assist partners with other audit functions
- Work directly with partners and colleagues to maximize firm efficiency and act as an internal resource based on knowledge and experience
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required, Master’s preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
